SeaVoice Volunteer Programme
We're recruiting four new volunteers to join us in our ocean storytelling journey.

We're looking for a Partnerships Assistant, Communications Assistant, Media & Engagement Assistant, and an Editing Assistant.
​​
What we expect:
-
1-3 hrs work each week
-
A minimum commitment of 6 months

Attendance at a monthly meeting
-
Remote work

What we're looking for:
-
Interest in ocean storytelling, cultural heritage, marine conservation, or nonprofit media
-
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail​
-
Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and collaboratively
-
Ability to work collaboratively, take initiative, and adapt to flexible timelines
​

Current volunteer positions
Partnerships assistant
Reports to: Head of Partnerships
​
Key Responsibilities
-
Research and track new grant opportunities; maintain and regularly update the grants database
-
Maintain the partner pipeline by updating the potential partners spreadsheet, identifying aligned organizations and brands, and sourcing key contacts
-
Assist in drafting and refining grant proposals and applications
Key goal: maintain the potential grants and partners database, actively identifying new opportunities for SeaVoice to grow its partners, audience and funding.
What We’re Looking For
-
Experience or interest in partnerships, fundraising, or communications is a plus
Communications assistant
Reports to: Head of Communications

Key Responsibilities
-
Assist in the creation and scheduling of social media content, ensuring it aligns with Seavoice’s tone and aesthetic.

Pitch creative ideas for content; all concepts to be reviewed and signed off by the Seavoice team.
-
Participate in creative planning sessions and contribute to storytelling strategy.

What We’re Looking For
-
Confidence using basic design and editing tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro)
-
A creative thinker with a strong visual sense and a passion for storytelling.

Familiarity with Instagram and short-form video content creation.
Media & engagement assistant
Reports to: Head of Creative

Key Responsibilities
-
Support visual layout, maintenance, and usability of the SeaVoice website
-
Upload and format content (articles, videos, images); occasional social posts
-
Contribute to impact tracking, media engagement, and admin tasks
-
Assist with event planning, outreach, and follow-up reporting
What We’re Looking For
-
Creative eye for visual storytelling and design
-
Familiarity with Wix/WordPress or willingness to learn
-
Interest in events, outreach, and digital media
Editing assistant
Reports to: Managing Editor

Key Responsibilities
-
Assist with the organization of volumes, by updating spreadsheets and helping communicate with contributors
-
Assisting with editing articles and copy editing other SeaVoice content.

Create content for and help manage the monthly newsletter. ​
​
What We’re Looking For
-
Confident writing skills and willingness to work with contributors to edit and format stories for publication.
-
Comfortable using excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
-
Some familiarity with website platforms (e.g., Wix) or willingness to learn.

SeaMedia
This autumn, we’re excited to be hard-launching SeaMedia — a new online space for ocean-inspired creativity — and we’d love to see your work!

What is SeaMedia?
SeaMedia is a digital repository celebrating the intersection of ocean and culture. From short films to photography, it will be a globally accessible source of education and inspiration.
​
Selected submissions may be featured in community screenings (with creator permission), SeaVoice photography exhibitions, or hosted on our website with credits, links to your site or socials, and a short story about you or the piece.

What We’re Looking For
We welcome submissions that are ocean- and people-centred, including:

Creative short clips

High-quality original photography

Artworks
-
Short films
-
Audio pieces
